Is it possible to get an i7 motherboard for an 2009 MacBook pro, or isn't it

mac book pro, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

I just checked inside my early 2009 macbook pro case and the ports are in exactly the same position as the ports on my quad i7. Also the battery is the same voltage and all same connectors. Also, the mainboard is EXACTLY the same size as the earlier one.


I think this just might work as long as all the ports on the new board are soldered/connected up already - the board should just slot into place in the same case. IN FACT the case model number has been the same since 2009 - go check.. ..A1286.


I'm going to try this then post to youtube when done - or broken - one of the two :/
