Q: Got receipt for an unauthorized purchase, please help!

Let's be clear, the only iDevice we own is a single iPHone 3GS:

Last night I received an invoice stating I downloaded a free App called Texas Poker from KAMAGAMES LTD. The app, which I have never downloaded (it isn't in my iTunes nor on my phone), has made two in-app purchases:

Texas Poker, 500k chips, Seller: KAMAGAMES LTD                                9.99

Texas Poker, 500k chips, Seller: KAMAGAMES LTD                                9.99

After taxes, this total invoice comes out to 22.76$, which is the total amount I had left in my account from a gift card I had redeemed a couple of months earlier.

I have never downloaded such an app, therefore these in-app purchases are impossible for me to have made. I reported this by e-mail to iTunes support but it's the weekend and I really want this settled ASAP.

Thank god I did not have a credit card linked to my account.

What can I do from this point on?

All of this follows my installing of an app called Paperboy:Special Delivery, which is free and does not allow for in-app purchases.

I do not gamble and NEVER play poker.

How can I get my money back from this illegal, unauthorized purchase?

FYI - I got my refund on the same day I reported the issue and my account has now been reactivated.  I've spent the amount on my gift card and won't be adding any more until Apple has fixed this obvious security flaw in the store.

Another victim here. I woke to find an attempted $99.99 store credit charge, then a successful $9.99 one--because I don't keep a large balance. Have emailed Apple... hope they get this fixed asap!!

Had the same thing happen, mine was for$99.99 for 15m in chips in app purchase, same story never down loaded the app.  I sent email to apple and they issued a credit for the total amount. I only had 5-7$ in my account and no credit card associated to it. Now my account shows $105. Balance  not sure if I will get a bill or what.  Shame apple doesn't have a number you can call. Maybe we should all be looking for a new tablet if apple can't do better than this!!!

Another victim here. Received a receipt for poker chips-never bought them, don't even know what the game is. I tried to contact someone yesterday via phone, only to be told by Apple Support that itunes has no phone contact. I emailed yesterday and am still waiting to hear. My gift card amount was wiped out.

Wow! This is unbelievable! I had the very same thing happen to me. I added a $25 gift card to my account Tuesday, May 10th and on Wednesday, May 11th, I was billed for $22.98: $19.99 for Texas Poker 1.5 m chips & 100 additional chips for $2.99. It wiped out nearly my entire gift card.  I called Apple and got a refund, but they've deactivated my account and I can't get it re-activated yet. I had noticed on my iPhone, the message "please enter your iTunes password" kept popping up after I added my gift card.  After having done that several times, I finally entered it because I was in an app that just updated, and I thought the app hadn't updated al the way.

Even with the purchase, I still don't have texas poker on my iPhone, either.

Now, even with in-app purchases disabled on my iPhone and my iTunes account deactivated, , my password box still keeps popping up on my iPhone, and I'm guessing that's probably because there's a little money still left on my account from the gift card.

It's seems this Kamma Games company has somehow figured out how to tell when someone adds a gift card to their account and then gets the $ from the card. Apple NEEDS to investigate this. we need to keep pushing the issue.

Now 48H plus since my first email, 24 plus on my second. Both received the "we got your email" replies but NOTHING else from Apple. I've been a huge fan for decades, but I'm seriously angry/frustrated now.

Its been a week now and I did get a response from one ITunes person that said the case was being investigated - whatever that means.  He did give me 2 song credits ... $57 left to recoup.  He asked for minimal information - last authorized purchase.  Yesterday I received another email from another ITunes rep - or so the email stated - this time she asked for other information to reactivate my account for me (which it hadn't been deactivated) including the last 4 digits to my credit card.  I will not provide anything personal to these people.  The biggest red flag to me was her name in the email is Laura (probably a coincidence, but ...), and my AppleID had been reset to laurafromtowson and my billing address changed to Towson, MD at the time of the hacking.  I know there is a place to report anything that is suspicious to Apple, but I can't seem to get back to that site.  The other red flag from this second email is that there are words that have been mistyped.  It seems, in looking at other people's discussions on these boards, that the basic introductory paragraph is a script that everyone receives - this one appears to be a bit different.  I think I'm just getting paranoid now!!  :/

Same thing happened to me. I had $32 or so of credit from gift cards and they charged $19.99 and $9.99 worth of poker chips. Has anyone checked out this app...does it allow a player to convert his unused chips back to cash?? Seems like that would run afowl of money laundering regulations.

NOTE TO ALL: Kamagames.com home page includes writing in Russian. I'm guessing that we're all victims of some sort of foreign scheme. Still, Apple has to answer for how it happened.

Add me to the list.  Kamagames drained my remaining gift card credit that I purchased from a chain pharmacy store.  I found the charge on Wednesday and contacted Apple immediately (via email).  It is now Sat and I still haven't heard anything.  I don't understand how Apple can have such a glaring whole in their security and not do anything about it.

Add me to the list of Kamagame poker chip buyers-NOT .  Got charged for $32+ on 5/11 from a gift card acct.  Reported it to iTunes Support & am told amt will be credited back to acct.  Acct was disabled until I supplied some additional information.  And, changed password at the same time.  Since these charges are from the Kamagame app, is Apple looking into the authenticity of this company or the app source?
