iPod for Windows 2005-10-12 software

Hey everybody. I'm wondering what the "iPod for Windows" software is for...I'm running short of HDD space (wan't to download more tunes from the Music Store of course!) and since it's 114MB (and Windows tells me I'm not using it...) I'm wondering if I can remove this application to save some space...
Thanks for your replies!

What you mean is the iPod Updater. This is a program for installing the iPod software onto your iPod. You've already done this so you don't actually need to keep this program installed on your computer. If you ever need to use it again, you can download the latest version here.

However, be aware that wise heads around these parts keep at least one older version of the iPod software in case any newer ones contain bugs er....."features" that we don't like.
