Projector will not display ipad when hooked with VGA adapter. Suggestions??
iPad
There have been many users who have discovered that their projectors don't work, while other brands do work. I can't provide specific help, but you might post the brand of your projector. Someone else with experience using it might comment.
I assume this is an iPad 2?
Hi,
me too I'm experiencing difficulties. Ipad 2 with VGA adaptor on Samsung sp-h03 projector. The projector just states: non optimal mode
Tried several proceedures, nothing works. On the PC everything works, but iPad will just not do it.
Hope this is not due to the Samsung/Apple struggle :-))
Anyone can help? Did not find any smart hint on the inet.
Many thanks
Christian
untill ios5 is released only few apps works with vga and tv adaptors
only youtube and video and the likes works
Hi and thanks for the message. But the Problem is that iPad 2 does NOT work at ALL over the sp-h03. Not Even on Video, Keynote, Youtube.....
I heard from other forums that iPad2 does work with VGA adaptor, but no one could give me a "how to".
Any settings to be adjusted?
That's really a downside....
+1
Solution apple? Becuase is the ios 5
Hi all,
iOS5 solved the Problem. Now you connect and it works fine.
Good job, many thanks!
Christian
That' s not true.... The trouble continue....
I, too, has this problem today, using a new iPad3 running iOS 5.1.1. Very frustrating with 20 people waiting to see the presentation that I'd spent a day preparing for. Never occurred to me that the projector wouldn't recognise my iPad and the iPad had an error message - surely these things should be universal. Please help before I'm due to make another one !
Silence out there ???
Doesn't ANYONE know how to fix this ??
VGA was working fine with iPad2 until I upgraded to iOS6. Now its not working....
I don't know if this will work with iOS6, but here's what I've found works for my iPad2.
1. Leave the projector off and no power cord plugged in to it.
2. Connect the blue cord to the back of the projector (blue port). (Don't know if other projectors have different colored cords, but there should be a cord that came with the projector.)
3. Connect the iPad VGA adapter to the other end of the cord.
4. Have the iPad turned on and the program you want to show on the screen.
5. Connect the iPad VGA adapter to the iPad.
6. Plug the power cord into the projector. Plug it into the wall.
7. Turn the projector on. Your program should be on the screen as soon as the machine warms up.
If you do it the other way (plugging in and turning on the projector first) it refused to recognize the iPad. At least on the equipment I'm using.
I've tried all the above but mothing seems to be working. Wonder if this is an issue with the iOS 6 upgrade? It worked well with the iOS 5 before. I'm thinking that probably we have to get the lightening adaptor for the ipad.
This is really unacceptable - there is no point in having presentation apps on an iPad if you can't actually connect by VGA to the standard projectors that are out there - many (most?) of which don't have an HDMI input. I see this is an unresolved issue going back over a year ! Amazing....
Just until a few months ago I was using the vga adapter with a video projector....but now it just does not work. As soon as I connect the vga adapter to the ipad I get the accessory not supported message even without connecting to the projector.
Apple needs to clean us this mess ....what a waste of money on the vga adapter.
I have the same problem. iPad 2, iOS 6. The VGA cable won't work, on any devices (projector or TV set)..No mirroring, no video output.... The same cable works fine with my friend's iPad 2 also on iOS 6. So I know it's not the cable nor the os version. I suspect it might be an app I have installed that causes the problem. I have so many apps installed that there's no way I'm going to remove them one by one to check this possibility. Apple should check what causes that issue. This is the most frustrating, those guys make a lot of money but don't care about their customers. If some apps are likely to cause this type of issues, Apple should check it. I don't have another explanation...Can someone help? Thanks!
