iPhone 4 Replacement Help

I have a black iPhone 4 and i have some problems with it so i rang apple and they said that they are hardware problems and to take it to a apple store and they should replace it. I just wanted to know if i will get a brand new replacement becuase my problems are MAJOR, and if they will replace my black iPhone with a white one? Has anyone done this with the iphone 4 or a previous iPhone?

Thanks,

iPhone 4, iOS 4.3.1

The iPhone warranty is only valid in the original country of purchase. Apple does not accept shipments from outside of that same country. You would need to bring the phone directly to Apple in Australia or you would need to send the phone to someone you know in Australia to have them take it into Apple for service then they would need to send the phone back to you.

All shipping will be at your expense.

hi there

m very frustrated right now coz of few things which seems like freaking me out.On this sunday i noticed a grey smuge kind of spot behind my iphone 4s display and i din't took any time to call apple care coz the idevice was juss two months old but soon came to know that sunday's are usually off. so made call the very next day and accquired a case number and the guy from apple care instructed me to make a visit to the service centre now i did so but on the next day coz the service centre is quite far from my place. There the took a while i gues went to some place and checked for any triggerd sensors for submurge case now the service person cam to me and told me that the sensors seems fine only d loop is that the headphone jack sensor got a tiny point of pink color on it and he said dont worry there are 99% chances that the phone will get replaced with a new one but for that they asked me to leave the phone for them to consult through apple chat about my case with the apple engg. team.

now every thing suddenly changed when i called again in the evening to the service centre who mentioned that your replacement is denied by the apple engg. and the reason they dictated was un acceptable as they said your display has experienced a very harsh and forcefull push inwards which have created that spot or smuge kind of area. But i was sure that nothing that sort happened and that smuge was something behind the display lcd and there is nothing wrong with the display as the colors were fine juss the background was smoky kind off that too in a small area.

Rest of the phone is working exeptionally well and i dont know from where this spot arised behind the display in addition to this the service centre guys provided faulty information to the apple care persons saying that the lcd is broken and even that the headphone jack sensor showed a total color change.

for now my case is referred to an higher level apple team by apple care and my fingures are crossed can any one help me in this cocern coz in india i guess we are restricted by legal terms and there are barely any provision available to present your case to a higher authorities as of mine.

Yep i can understand that but i juss wanted to firstly explain my case under this thread as this could happen with any one secondly my case is solved by the apple care guyz and they have agreed to replace my iphone with a new one now there is a loop in this and the way i make up dere minds by collecting information about display damages occuring due to external force and een some internal force which is strictly manufacturer concern which is apple just explained them and they sent my iPhone pics to ireland to a concern team with all the other additional information i accumulated and todays evening my luck striked and i got this good news. I am happy atlast my honesty is uncompromised

Yep totally agreed tonefox is ryt wen i had a word wid the customer service executives ie. ios advisors they mentioned the refurbished one is d one which has gone through a lots of rebooting process and diagnostics just to make sure that it dosent bother you with another software or hardware issue i could just say it is more valued then a new one coz i am holding one in my hand right now which was just offered to me 2 days ago.

So dnt wrry its upto mark

Hi I bought an used Indian Iphone 4 32gb from a popular selling & buying website.. When I bought it its condition was moreover ok.. But after two days i am continiously facing " no service" issue. I am a airtel subcriber though. My phone is getting switched of half a way suddenly & from yesterday i am facing white screen issue.. I went to the macintel solution ( kolkata). The engg. is saying it can only be replace in 5-6 working days with ia cost of rs.10260/- with a new replaced iphone. I was wondering whether they originally provide a new one or it will be a refurbished one in that mentioned amount... I am so confused to spend more money on that phone.. I donno what to do... Plz suggest... 😟

Hi souravm8

First of all u bought dis iphone 4 from an website selling used phones then under the indian contract act which is usually an contract between the seller and the buyer the whole liability for any issue pertaining in the product is of the website for atleast 15-30 days it can be replaced or credit refunding may occur but if this is not being followed then as per your request i would like to mention that yes they do provide an refurbished phone but this refurbished one is far more better as compared to any new device as for your assistance this device is periodically checked and passes few booting and shut down tests so that dosent create any threat of any kind in future rest the issues u mentioned occurring in your i device relates a software loop you can try reseting your iphone completely and if it is jailbrkd den u need to update i4 to its latest available ios that would hopefully solve your problem and you would rather save a few bucks too.

Bst of luck

Hi, Thanks for your feedback.. Firstly my device is not jailbreaked & I have tried several times to restore the phone.. but the same thing is happening... as u suggest for a replaced Iphone.. I was wondering whether it wud be justified to spend 10k more for a refurbished device.. coz that device may create same issues or some other one as well.. so wat do u suggest sir???

Hi , I have a question , I went to apple to try repair the switch on/off button on iphone 4S (I was out of my warranty) and they gave me a new iphone 4S for free and they said nothing abut repairing the old one or the fac that I have to pay , and later I revied a mail where it said that they will fix it in aproximate 90 days and that I have to pay 160 pounds for it but when I went online and checkeed the repair status it said repair completed . What happens If in 90 days they tell you your phone is ready and you don't go to pick it up ? they will block the phone they gave you in return ?
