Whenever I try to do a update/restore to iOS 4.3.3 I get an error saying "this device isn't eligible for the requested build." This only started happening after I installed Xcode to enable the multitasking gestures, while on 4.3.2. Thanks.

There's been another person succeed in fixing this error by following the solution here, you should try it. That is, anyone still having the problem.
Try to remove or put a '#' befor the IP@ of gs.apple.com into the host file.

Can anyone give me his / her Apple server? I changed it with another one which does not work and now I have no server at all!
You don't want to have a line there at all. Just remove the line altogether. Putting a hash mark in front of it wOuld work too, but I would just delete it, that's what I did.
Well it worked but the update wasn't done entirely: the ipad blocked at 95%!

I finally managed to restore my iDevice, simply by connecting it to another MBP! Any of the solutions worked, that's crazy…!
BOY... just had the same headache with my band new iPad 2. It wouldn't update either and it's only 2 days out of the box. I was on the phone with Applecare and they were clueless.
I finally synced it into my wife's PC (I have a Macbook Pro) and no problem!
This has been the one and only headache I've had with an Apple product.

run tinyumbrella (as administrator)
run itunes as administrator
shift restore to 4.3.3

I have no gs.apple.com info in my host file...
BRILLIANT !! THIS IS THE FIX..DFU MODE FIRST ..RUN UMBRELLA IN BACKGROUND AND THEN DO THE 4.3.3 UPGRADE WORKS PERFECT WITH NO ERRORS !!.. I TRIED EVERYWAY AND ALWAYS HAD THE ERROR..THE KEY IS THE DFU MODE FIRST !! ..
It was a long time ago but thank you all. By the time I am writing this my iPad is running iOS 3 so it is runs much smoother.
