Import preset for 1080 P H.264??

Folks,

It's been a long while since I used FCPro but I have the latest FCStudio for Motion mainly.

I have a quick question I know a knowledgeable and helpful guru will be able to solve: I have recorded a procedure through a surgical microscope into an Optronics Microcast system. I want to bring this video into FCPro and use the correct preset. In QT 7 it says "VC Coding ˇˇ!avcC B)ˇ·gB)Ù ¿ /* h, 1920 x 1080, Millions" at FPS = 28.67 and Data Rate = 3983.25 kbits/s.

Can anyone please tell me what preset I should use to edit the video clips in 1080 P HD ?

Many thanks.

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.7), 8 core, 16 GB RAM, CalDigit 4 TB

Convert it to Apple Prores 422 for editing, otherwise you will have more renders and maybe some troubles.

The experts on the forum suggest the LT version of Prores because of its smallest size files and little change in quality but I guess it depends on what you are doing.

You can convert with Compressor or with MPEG Streamclip witch is free.
