I to face similar problem with my MacBook Pro 10.6.7. I had excluded many files before Backup, but still TM had backed up all the files including the files that i have Excluded.

I tried fresh backup by erasing the Backup partition completely, and once again excluded those files on TM and started the backup again. Initially it showed 19.11 Gb to be backup, but after reaching 19.11Gb, it still continued until it reaching 80 Gb. After backing i can see all those folders in the backup that i have excluded in TM.

Is there any fix for this issue?
