Quicktime & Final Cut Express

I'm trying to take a screen recording of myself doing some work on my Macbook Pro, however when I try to take the video into Final Cut Express for editing, it does not let me import the .mov file. The error message says "Error 1 File Recognized, 0 File Denied, 1 File Unknown" How to do fix this issue so I can import my screen recording?
