got my new 27" imac last night and got the dreaded although slightly yellow tinted bottom half of screen. I posted this on Mac Rumors as well. Anyone else have this issue with their new imac? Otherwise, really nice machine. I'm buying another one will send back the defective one for a refund.

I wonder why Apple can repeat this problem since 2009?
Mine is 27" i7 3.4Ghz.
i have the same model. Ordered another one, hopefully this one will be ok, but I'm worried.

Mine (27" I5 3.1Ghz) delivered on the 10th May. very slight yellow tint to the bottom left. I'm more concerned though by the faint shadow that runs the entire length of the screen, about an inch from the bottom. Anybody else got that?
Got a replacement ordered, and if that's no better getting a refund.
shoot...my brand new custom built 27" that I got on 5/16 is showing the same yellowing at the bottom. Has anyone talked to Apple, and if so, what did they say? Is it a hardware issue?

my second one comes tomorrow. they know it's a problem but i really don't think they're doing anything about it. It seems like luck of the draw. This problem has been going on since 2009 I believe. *****, otherwise my machine is perfect and really hate to give up a good machine other than the yellow tint problem.
Bummer to hear...gotta believe that this is not as wide spread as problems on past releases. I talked to Apple tonight and I have to send mine back on their dime over night and then they will overnight me a new one. (Waiting to get the tickets via email to send it back) I'm hoping for a good result. I love this thing. I got an 11,800 plus Geekbench test score and rendered a 3D prorject in Maxwell Render that took only 26 minutes when it takes like 3 to 4 hours on my old 2008 UMBP. Multi tasking is a breeze. We gotta make it work. Return is not an option!

Called Apple two days ago.
Today a courier will come to pickup my faulty iMac.
And will return me a new one later.
Hopefully, I am lucky this time.
Did you consider taking it to Apple store and having just the display replaced? That was an option I learned about but it makes me a bit nervous ...I've heard too many disturbing stories to feel comfortable doing that right off the bat so opted for return and replacement. The only bummer is that Im single and am working on an assignment in another city so use the office as the fed ex delivery and pickup so I had to pack that heavy bad boy up in a box again...finagle it into the backseat of my Beetle and wrestle it back into work. Pain in the ***!
Just returned a faulty one to Apple.
Apple said it will take 3-4 weeks for a whole process of inspecting the faulty iMac and
shipping a new one to me.
So, I cancelled the replacement, instead I chose a full refund and buying a new iMac.
The new one will take 7-10 days to deliver.
Hopefully, this time will be lucky.
I'm beginning to wonder. I purchased this iMac 27" in 2009 just after it was introduced. I had the Apple Store set it up and transfer files from my old PowerBook G4. The only problem I've had was the inital screen flickering and that was solved with the download from Apple. I've had no other screen problems. Maybe when the Apple Store set it up, they found problems and resolved them before I got the computer back.
that's right you shouldn't have to do that off the bat. I've heard people leaving dust and finger prints behind the screen. Shame we have to go though such things.
