Exec format error. Binary file not executable

Hello,

I need to use a script originally compiled for Linux for data analyses. When I tried to use it in X11 on my Mac (10.6.7), I got the following error:

"Exec format error. Binary file not executable."

Unfortunately I could not find the source code anymore, so I can not recompile it for Mac. Is there a way to get around this?
