no i did it and it costs so much money and the free trial stinks

I got mackeeper to try it and it works just fine for me. I don't find much use for it though. It basically just sits there.

Try removing it.

Maybe that's why it hasn't had any undesirable effects. USING it may not work "just fine."

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT INSTALL. This is unnecessary and the company seems more interesting in sending unsolicitied SPAM than anything else.

I was conned into buying Mackeeper last year and I can attest, it is total and complete crap. It actually slows down your system due to the extra crapware it installs. STAY FAR FAR AWAY....

I don't know why MacKeeper has such an army of enemies. I downloaded it months ago and use it frequently to removed unneeded files. All i can say is it works for me.

Thomas, may I assume that this was the free version - you wouldn't waste your money it in, would you? ;)

I may do some testing later on myself if so.

I had similar results to Thomas with the demo version on a clean install of Mountain Lion some three or four months ago.
