Apple TV etc loses network connectivity

My AppleTV 2 loses network connectivity every now and then in the middle of playing a movie/tv show. The connection is wired so therefore it is not a wifi issue. It happens often while playing a Neflix movie but it also happens while playing movies off of my iTunes collection on my iMac and less often with TV shows. Once this happens the Apple TV won't connect to any online service (my Internet is still ok), so it looks to me like the network stack on the ATV2 crashed. If I wait long enough (a few minutes) it comes back to life. Otherwise if I am impatient I'll pull the plug on it for a couple seconds and upon restart all is fine again.

Anyone else experiencing this too?

I use to have the same problem as everyone is experiencing. I found that my Apple TV wasn't able to handle my multi-band wireless router, so when I set it up to only run 802.11N og G it worked perfectly fine with no cutouts.

I had same issue after latest update and only after going through all settings did I find that in settings-general-airplay that the update had set AirPlay to off. Turned on and within a few seconds could see atv option again on my iPad
