iOS 4.2.1 on iPhone 3G showing numeric battery percentage!!!!

YES! your guess is right. It was jailbroken. However, I restored the phone to factory settings yesterday and then restored from the most current backup. I did this cause jailbreaking made my phone lag very bad. Everything that came from cydia and cydia itself are gone. What remains is a normal iPhone 3g running iOS 4.2.1 However, the battery percentage continues to show in the status bar! Can someone guide me to get the normal conditions please...

Hello, After restoring to factory settings I would want to restore from a backup inorder to be able to use my apps with their most current info. like games… i dont want to start over everything again. so i restore from the most current backup after factory restoring it. but as soon as i restore from the most current back it brings back the percentage.

is there any way i can edit this com.apple.springboard and remove that tweak?

Yes, there are ways to remove the tweak by using ibackupbot for windows , sorry ! No Mac support. And ibackupbot will find the most recent backup of your devices and select your backup you want to use. Then find that plist and double click on it. It will as you to register but click cancel. You will now see a plist editor, try and find an array/ line that says something about SBBattery or something and remove that line or set the value to FALSE then press F7 or F11 and it should ask you if you want to restore your device and click yes. Your iPhone will not loose any data. Only the plist should of been changed. Sorry for this long guide! :) You might also have a look around the Internet on "How to get battery percentage on iPhone without jailbreaking. When they say add this string/text, do the opposite, find and remove the text they ask you to put in. Or as I said before you can just change the value to false.
