Shortcut to a folder on network

Is there a way to make a shortcut/alias to a folder that is shared on my network? I'd like to put a shortcut icon to it direclty on my mac desktop rather than going in to finder to get to it.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply captfred.... but it will not drag anywhere. Just to clarify in case I didn't explain it well enough, I have my PC on the network which my mac is on. I drop things back and forth on the desktops between them. On my Mac, when I open the Finder, under "shared" is my pc which has the desktop shared (among other folders). But I cannot pull that folder anywhere. And I can't make it an alias.

I'd just like to make an icon to stick on my Mac desktop that goes right to my PC desktop for easy drag and dropping rather than having to open up the Finder to get to my PC desktop each time.
