Hi All,
I had it happen today in Firefox.
I had started my Browser and Apple Communities is my Home Page.
I forgot to log in.
I opened a second tab (The way I do things) straight from an email Subscription as it started to open I noticed I was not logged in.
I clicked the original tab and clicked the Sign In spot.
Instead of taking me to the page I had just opened in the thread (Usual action) it went back to my Home Page.
The tab I had tried to open in a thread said It could log me in and said Error 9
(I recently posted in another thread that this Tabbed use in a Browser did seem to be able to redirect the Login to where you wanted to be in a thread - the Original Poster in that thread implied they were using windows in their browser)
So...
There is something about the software that can tell when (and where) you are Logged in and where you are viewing and if the viewing is not logged in will take you back to the Viewing point if you log in later. (I remember the WebX software doing something similar - pre last quarter of 2005).
This may point to the sort of info that should be in the Cookie.
I am not sure but I also think I got logged out the other day.
I was distracted by my son's new MacBook Pro long enough for Sleep to occur which is probably the important factor in that (Set at 1 Hour). (Umm, Shiney 👿 😎 )
The Mac cutting the connection without notifying the Communities software I was leaving probably would be enough to invalidate the Cookie. (strangely I did not have the issue on Logging back in on Wake).
Hopefully this will give some clues to investigate.
