For some reason my phone is stuck on headphone setting. I do not have headphones plugged in. how do I turn this off?

Check for dirt or lint in the headphone jack. You may be able to get it out with a toothpick or other small pointed object.
This is usually a matter of some kind of conductive matter stuck in the headphone jack or a broken headphone jack.
There is a slide button at top left hand side of phone, 3GS anyhow, if you see the orange, volume is locked. Somehow managed to figure this one out myself after not having any ringtone for a couple of weeks! Hope this helps someone out there!
