Coincidence. My son's classic still has 16 working games on it, has the latest firmware and I'm using the latest version of iTunes when I sync it.

An iPod is too easily lost, broken or stolen to hold the primary version of your media. PC hard's too are prone to failure. You need at least two separate copies of your files, in addition to any held on your devices to consider yourself backed up. FWIW this User Tip shows how I do it.

I hope you are fortunate in recovering your games and making them work again.

It would seem that iPod Click Wheel games are no longer on sale. I couldn't find that link just now either. Then one popped into existence randomly at the end of the same menu only to tell me that the games were not available in the UK store. This KB Article might suggest they should still be on sale somewhere, but then again it has a notice to say it is no longer being updated. Just tried to look up the store links from my existing Click Wheel games and they failed with the same error. I think it is safe to say they are gone... 😟

The games were fine up until a few days ago they they stopped working.

Re install the games ipod says. I have a new computer so I don't have the games.

iPad Games were sold to you on a one time only download basis. You were encouraged to back them up. If you have changed computers without migrating your library, and not transfered your purchases into a new one before updating the device, then these may well be gone. If they are still on the device try using the transfer purchases option. It may be that having updated your iPod from a new library they is an authentication issue, which can only be resolved by reinstalling the games from a computer.

Yes, the games were sold to me on a 'one time download basis', but, it was the Apple updates that made the games to cease working. And not for the first time.

If the computer that I have the games backed up on dies there is no way of reinstalling them.

I may try this.

I just found it strange that very soon afterwards they stopped selling the games all of mine stopped working.

Coincidence?
