Hello. Last night I put my iPad to sleep with approx. 80 per cent of a battery charge. This morning it won't power on even when I connected it to its charger. Also, I tried synching it to my Mac, but the Mac didn't recognize it. Any ideas? It's a first-gen refurbished 16g WI-Fi model. Thanks!

Try a hard reset. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Ignore the red slider.
If the hard reset doesn't work, try leaving it on the charger longer. My first iPad would loose its charge quickly and took some time to wake up. A longer charge and the reset would get running for a short time. I was able to replace it under warranty at the Apple Store.
I had the same problem with my 1st gen iPad,(my iPad would not power up even when connected to the charger) I held down the home and reset button and "voila" my iPad powered up. I hope this helps someone in the same predicament
If you have access to one, try it with a different USB cable, just to rule out that it's not the problem
I do think if resetting it, swapping out the cable, trying different computers doesn't work,t hen take it back to the store because something may be wrong with it.
Thanks for the great ideas, everyone ! I took my iPad to our Apple store, and it tured out to have a wonky battery. They replaced my refurbished iPad with a "re-manufactured" one (they are so awesome!) and the new one has been working great.
