my iphone battery won't charge

My IPhone 4 battery suddenly won't charge. It currently has a little charge left. I have tried it in more than one charger, so it is the phone not the charger that is the problem. What do I do?

Another thing you can do is put the phone in restore mode where you see the iTunes icon on the phone with a usb cable displayed below it.

The phone will usually be forced to charge during this mode, without you having to restore it. What you shouldn't do is go into DFU mode (where the screen goes black), since it will not charge in this mode.

Let the phone charge up for 15 minutes or so, and the reboot it.

To get out of the restore mode and reboot it, just press Home and the Power buttons until the phone reboots.

Mine took about a minute to reboot after I did this, but it did fix the issue!😀

I don't know why Apple has the only mobile phone on the planet that can have such a goofy issue. I like a lot of things about the phone, but they sometimes over-complicate their designs so weird issues like this crop up. And by the way Apple, would an actual reset button have been too much to ask for (like even cheap feature phones have)?

My Iphone5 would not accept a charge on multiple chargers, while my company issued 5 would..after refraining from tossing it against the wall I grabbed a small paperclip and carefully pulled this small mammal from the charging port (actually just pocket fuzz and dust)...However, it began charging right away.

BE CAREFUL NOT TO DESTROY THE PRONGS INSIDE YOUR PORT. use a flashlight if possible..still cant believe all this was in there..hope this helps..

i had just a few days ago gotten the same problem everytime i tried to charge my iphone it would say that it was not capatable or something like that, so i contacted the site i had bought it from online because it had been used. they said that i could not return it so i set out to find out what was wrong and that led me here after reading the sudgestions i looked into the port to plug in my charger unlike what happened to him i did not find any debry but i did find that the thin strip of mettal that fits into the charger was close to the edge. so very carefuly i straitended it out. now my charger works fine. check to see if the metal piese is bent if so try to fix it. This is riskey because you could make it worse but luckily it worked for me now my iphones charging with all ports and syncing up to itunes. thanks for steering me in the right direction JClary89.
