Logic Pro V Logic Studio & Final Cuts etc

Hi all,

Ive been using an old Logic Express for about 2 years learning the basics. Its my friends system. I already have a mac mini

that I bought 2 years back. So now I want to get my own set up but Im not sure which software I should be going for!!???

Ive learned the basics with Express but its limited in its music data base. I write chart type music, pop you could say. I think

the new express would probably just be similar enough to the old Express my friend was letting me use. I believe Pro comes

with all the jam packs and its obviously a little more sophisticated.

But Im confused now ith Final Cuts, Logic Studio, Logic Pro. Which one is best suited me is what Im trying to establish.

And if I do go for one of these, is a Mini Mac sufficient or do I need to upgrade that stuff first before I even think about purchasing

the software....

Thanks again 🙂

Logic Pro is no longer available if I'm not mistaken, and Final Cut is for Movie Production. Logic Studio is best bet for music creation.

With Logic you can install at least some of the loop content to an external drive fairly easily. And I believe you can get even more of it off your boot drive with some hacking. With a machine like that you're probably going to want a second drive either way.

So you definitely can run Logic on a machine with a hard drive that's not huge, either install as much of the content externally as possible, or just have the installer skip that content if you're really tight on space.
