When I synch to Google contacts nothing happens

Hi,

I am trying to synch my contacts FROM my iPhone TO Google contacts. I can sign in to Gogle contact so I know I am using the right userid and password. When I synch in iTunes using those credentials it gives me no error messages but the number of contacts in Google doesn't change (1). I have no way of knowing whether it has synched From Google to iPhone and left just one contact there because the touchscreen failed.

Does the synch naturally work both ways or does it only work from Google to iPhone? How can I get the contacts from iPhone to Google? How can I tell the number of contacts on my iPhone now, only by using iTunes?

Thanks. I was told at a Genius session last night that I could do it through iTunes. I have backed up to that and there is an option to synch to Google within iTunes so I used that. I can't access my phone directly to do it using Google synch app because the touch screen is completely broken.

Thanks. I have done that. I get no error messages but no 'success' messages either and the contacts on Google do not update. I have refreshed the page and signed out and back in again. I am worried that the synch only works in one direction and it is the wrong one for me!

Actually, I do get a message saying that synch is 'complete' but no indication of which or how many contacts where moved from where to where. It also happens suspiciously quickly for 50 odd cntacts to go across the network and get added to the Google contact successfully

You're using Windows, correct? Try resetting your sync history in iTunes: iTunes>Preferences(under the edit menu)>Devices>Reset Sync History. Close iTunes, then re-launch it. Try again.
