delete wrong apple ID from the appstore login

when I try to update my apps on the ipad the box that pops up has the wrong apple ID in it and I can not change it no matter what I do. I have re set the info in the settings and when viewed there the info is correct. When I get into the app store I still get the wrong ID no matter what I do... anyone have any suggestions

The solution is much simpler than most people think. I couldn't do updates or install new apps and it was coming up with an old ID, so I searched for where to enable auto updates.

(Settings > ITunes and app store > top line, which should read "Apple ID: ****)

It was still set as my old ID so I tapped on it and signed out and back in on my new account.... et voila! Works fine again! 😀😀

The solution you have listed works if you have the wrong Apple ID signed in to the Tunes & App Store as you have described. Most of the posters on this thread are signed in with the correct Apple ID, but they have apps on their devices that were purchased or downloaded under a different Apple ID. And as has been advised, in those situations, you either must supply the password to that other Apple ID when prompted (that is what I do), or you have to delete the offending App, and re-purchase or re-download it if it was free under your current, signed-in Apple ID.

Not sure what you mean 'do the right address', but you can log out of the account that you are using for the stores by tapping on it in Settings > iTunes & App Store and you can then log in with a different account.

Any content downloaded by an account is permanently tied to that account, so only that account can download updates to its apps, and do in-app purchases in them

Having two IDs for the iTunes & App Store is simple, and regardless of what ID you have signed into iCloud, you should have the ID that has the majority (if not all) of your purchases signed into iTunes.

I have two IDs as well. My original ID and my @me.com ID. I have made purchases on both. I sign into iTunes with my @me.com Apple account, and when apps that need to be updated that were purchased with my old Apple ID are trying to update, I get a prompt asking me to type in the password to that Apple ID. I also get prompts to type in the password for my husband's Apple ID as I have some apps that he purchased on my device.

So, if you can specifically explain what the issue is, maybe we can find a solution for you. Which ID are you signed into iTunes with? Are you signed into iTunes on both the i-Device and the comptuer with the same ID? If not, why not? What is the particular roadblock you are running into? Provide a clear complete example of the issue.
