iMAC screen FOG

Just wondering if anyone out there is having an issue with screen FOG? I have a new iMAC with 27" screen bought primarily for photography editing.

I find if I turn it off overnight then turn it back on the screen will slowly develop a fog which then takes about 2 hours to clear. I can repeat the problem so I need to know if all iMAC screens do this if turned off?? - it is obviously condensation inside the screen and I can't edit my photos until it clears - very disruptive to photography editing. thanks - in anticipation of some advice! I did speak to my local supplier who said it isn't a "known" problem but I have seen a few comments about similar problems on the Web. Helen

Hi Everyone - just to let you know that my issues with screen fog and condensation continued for 2 years - two different problems I believe - one on the inside of the screen which was usually round/oval in shape and the other on the outside of the screen was usually 2 parallel lines of condensation - see my photos in my original post. Both would come and go for no apparent reason through Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring. It took a long time but Apple eventually refunded the purchase price of my 27" iMac - under Australian consumer law it was unfit for purpose - which in my case was photography editing. I did some research into the new 27" models and the screen design has been changed - they don't have a detachable front glass plate any more and seem to be a sealed unit - my personal conclusion is that it may have been a design fault as who has the time to get out the hair dryer or move the computer when confronted with this problem. After much consideration I'm now the happy owner of a 15" Macbook Pro with no condensation problems in the same environment where I had the 27" imac. I'm still considering the purchase of a 3rd party screen for editing or to take the chance on the new design features of the bigger MAC screens. This will be my final post on this topic.
