Best iPad 2 case for kids

I am thinking of getting an iPad 2 for my 4 year old. I'd like some feedback on what's the best case for it. I realize that there isn't going to be the greatest case out there and that I really should invest on getting it insured. At first I was thinking of getting ht new iPad Defender Series case for the new iPad 2 but I haven't heard great reviews on it. So I'm hoping I could get feedback here about what's a good one to get.

We have tried two diferent cases for our little girl. A lighteight silicone case worked really well:

But we found this instead and eally love the handle and convertible stand. The EVA foam offeres great protection.

Shouldn't four year olds be outside having fun with other kids? They'll get addicted to this and never want to go outside or play with friends if you do this, most likely.

Only if a parent lets a child have unfettered access to the iPad all the time. There are a lot of wonderful educational apps for pre-primary children, and it would be a shame to deny them to a child out of fear that the child will "never" go outside or play with friends.

Overall I am happy with the Trident.

Pros: I like that it is thin enough so that the iPad fits in a neoprene case for traveling without having to remove the Trident case as you would have to with the iGuy. It also comes with a screen protector for the front. Luckily my son has not dropped it yet, but it seems sturdy.

Cons: The front edge crinkles a bit. (I tried to post a picture but I am not able to.) This is annoying to me, but it does not impact the performance of the case. The stand is very flimsy. I do not trust it to actually hold the iPad up. I usually prop it up with a pillow instead.

Good Luck!

Thank you all SO much! My 2 1/2 y.o. uses my iPad and I've been paranoid about her dropping it! I was familiar with the Otterbox series, since I have a Defender case for my iPhone 4, but was not familiar with the Trident Kraken! I think this will be a perfect fit for her, especially since she's often frustrated because of accidental screen swipes, or from where she holds the screen, and it's slightly extended handles seem to be the perfect solution. I also found it on Amazon for $27! Nice!

I'd also like to add to @HuskieN, there are 24 hours in a day and if the other parents here are like me, our children get PLENTY of outside play time, as well as other extra-curricular activities such as dance and music class, however, there are times when she needs to sit still, and I'd much rather she play with the eLearning's Spanish flash cards, or Kids Manadarin language matching game than turn what should be a 30 min affair into a 2 hour one.

We're raising well-rounded children, ones who are physically, emotionally, spiritually, socially, and technologically experienced, so don't knock others parenting tacticts unless you know and understand the fullness of them.

Here's the link to Amazon for the Trident case in case others are interested.http://www.amazon.com/Trident-Kraken-Hybrid-Case-Yellow/dp/B003ZWSTGW/ref=lh_ni_ t. They also have the Otterbox iPad cases for less than what it would be on the manufacturer's site (in case you want to try them both: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003TVWNAM?utm_source=snapps&utm_medium=post&ut m_campaign=amazon). The Speck case, like the Etch-a-Sketch case (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0043O2FOI), which I love, is super cute, but seems impractical for how we use our iPad.

Hi I just order a Trident case from Amazon because I have one for my cell phone and I am in love. I work at a daycare and all the kids spill drink on my trident case and It never get damage. So, I decided to get it for my i pad 2 and I am very happy with the results as well. As a teacher I will ONLY TRUST TRIDENT CASE! If you have any problems with the case just call the company and they case send you a new case. I DON"T recommand the Otter box because it's a NOT WORTH YOU MONEY!!!!! FOr a little one she/he will enjoy using the TRIDENT CASE!
