Mac Mini 1.1 - Connect a TV as well as a monitor
I have just purchased my first ever Mac, and am loving it! I have it in my bedroom connected to a 19" LCD monitor via a DVI cable (1280x1024). I am planning on buying 42" widescreen LCD TV and want to also watch videos stored on the mac on that display also occasionally. I am not sure exactly what pixel resolution this widescreen TV will be yet. I'd imagine it will be a 1080p capable display.
Now, the Mac has a DVI output (which I am using with the current monitor). I know I can purchase a DVI - HDMI cable and use that to connect the television.
My questions are;
1) is the only way I'm going to be able to switch between the two by removing the monitor from the Mac Mini and then plugging in the TV at the back? This is a lot of faff. Also, is a reboot of the Mac Mini required each time?
2) Is there a way to connect both displays to the Mac Mini at the same time (even if both don't display at same time - perhaps some means of having a switch?)
3) Does the Mac Mini support dual output such that both can be viewed at the same time, even at obviously different resolutions?
Any responses would be very much appreciated.
Thanks.
