When you perform a Firmware Restore the iPhone will have a complete fresh new system, same as if you went to Apple Store and bought a New iPhone today. Regarding the headphone issue. Try the headphones on another iPhone or device to see if they work. Try another headphone set on the iPhone to see if it is working. Sometimes headphone problems can be resolved by blowing air into the jack to remove lint or debris.

I have restored my iphone few times!!! but nothing helps!! is not recognizing my sim card - even in vodafone told me to make a duplicate of sim card....did it - but doesnt work!!! please help!!! I need to have back my iphone! thanks! from Badajoz, Spain

Your iPhone is fine. When you decide to Restore the Firmware with iTunes it will be completely erased. There will be nothing from the jailbreak on the iPhone.

Only current texts could be lost, the ones since the Jailbreak. All the texts in the Back-up will be there. If you back-up before the Restore like you should always do. All texts will be there.

There is only one speaker. It is on the right. The one on the left is the microphone.

You're hosed. Jailbreaking can do permanent damage to the phone.

what is hosed? not very encouraging messages here. Is it illegal to jailbreak? in the US or Europe?

It's not illegal. However it voids your warranty with Apple and forfeits your right to any further assistance from Apple including from this forum.
