How do you connect to the internet when you are away from your home WIFI? I have a new IPad2 and don't have a clue.

iPad 2, Windows 7

You can connect to any open wifi. Many hotels, coffee shops, libraries, airports, cities, etc. etc. have free wifi. Or, you can use your 3G data plan to connect to the Internet using your iPad's 3G. Or, you can get a mifi/hotspot data plan from your cell phone provider and connect your iPad to the Internet using the mifi or hotspot device. Or, you can use your hotspot enabled phone to connect your iPad to the Internet.

I use a Mifi device. It creates a wifi hotspot that you can connect to with your iPad — and any other devices you want. Mine can cope with as many as five devices connected at once. Having your own portable wifi is more convenient than finding Internet cafes, etc — and also more secure, but of course, it depends on you being in places where there's a signal, so check that out before buying.
