how to delete purchased Appstore history?

Also, there has always been a history of your downloads available (free and ones you paid for) by logging into the iTunes account via iTunes and selecting purchase history.

Right... you have to log into the iTunes account. They don't NEED to do that to see my purchases on my iPhone or iPad.

Instead, I am required to log out EVERY time I access the store, in order to keep my private purchase history private. I am not require to log out for ANYTHING else, but I AM required to log in for everything but this.

Very poor planning Apple. This is a huge issue. If I lend someone my phone, I don't want them to be able to see a complete history of all the apps I've ever purchased or installed. This needs fixed, and promptly.

Why would you lend someone your phone? Surely the same can be said for everything else on the phone - messages, mail, notes, contacts etc? Whats the difference.

You must be single and have no friends or family. I lend my phone to my wife when her battery is dead, to my Dad if we're down there doing something and he doesn't have his with him, to co-workers for testing apps. Regardless of to whom or why I lend my phone, for all other App Store related activities, I have to sign-in. This "feature", if you will, requires no log-in. At a minimum, it should be configurable in Settings. Go get some friends to lend your phone to.

I have friends, and if they need to use my phone then i will let them use it, but i trust them not to go snooping around the phone. If you are lending your phone to co-workers, then you must be pretty stupid! Surely they could go through your messages, mail and etc, which will contain far more personal information than a few 'adult' apps that you have downloaded which you don't want people to discover.

As for the "Difference", In all of those other items, I have control. I can delete messages, mail, notes, contacts, etc. I don't have control over managing my purchase history.

To answer your question though, this doesn't ONLY relate to the iPhone. This affects the iPod Touch, as well as both versions of the iPad. My iPad gets passed around my family all the time. My kids want to download and play with new games... ALL the time... so, when I want to get the game, I have to enter my Apple ID and password, download the game, and I'm good to go. 10 Minutes later? For the next game? I go through the same process.

Now, though, I have to log into the store, download the application, and then go through the multiple steps to sign out (SETTINGS | STORE | Tap my Apple ID | SIGN OUT) every time.

The "Why" is going to be different for everyone... but the "Why" doesn't matter. It's my device. I can do what I'd like with it.

Apple pls I request you to remove the purchased app history from App store. This is really embarrassing!

This makes the problems to privacy, we forcefully avoid to give our phone to friends or relatives. Please provide to remove that option or just gives us the option to hide the selected apps. :(

Totally agree. This is really bad planning from Apple and I'm not surprised so many are complaining. I've filed a complaint via the feedback page and urge others to do the same.

If I DELETE an app from my purchase history, I would consider it DELETED. Therefore if I would expect to buy it again if I decide to download. I'm sure Apple are keeping this history there to avoid re-charging. But let me decide that. Please!

Honestly, i need to be able to clear up my history because im in a new relationship and its getting serious now... for the first part of the relationship i was checking out singles sites. Now if i cant delete this information and my now serious relationship is compromised because i cant protect my privacy and my information is freely out in the open... look out apple!

Have to agree I don't like the idea of everyone seeing my purchase history. I would like to choose what I want to be seen on my purchase history. I totally get that the the apps that I paid for stay. It just makes me mad that I can't have privacy. I don't like this new icloud thing. Maybe if more people complain they will fix it. It's a major privacy issue.

Of course this could be a conspiracy to stop people sharing the one account among the family members and each person has their own account with their own paid for songs and paid for apps.

Which would be a shame, because I can't register my youngest on iTunes, as you need to be 13, yet I can't stop them accessing iCloud. The obvious solution would be to not let people under 13 use Apple devices. 😕

if you are in a relationship with someone who could not understand that you were 'playing the field' before your relationship became serious, you have bigger problems than an 'app purchase history'. were you misleading this person at first to think it was serious even though you were checking out singles sites? again...that is a problem for the relationship no matter what apple has done. and to the people that are worried about someone borrowing their phone and going digging around into your privacy you also have bigger problems than what apple has done with this purchase history...why would you call someone who does that a friend?

that being said i would also like to remove the purchase history if i choose, just not for those reasons.

There is a simple solution to this problem (for apple). When deleting an app/whatever from your iPhone/whatever have two options for the user:

1. Remove from device

OR

2. Remove from iCloud

This allows users to delete items from their device only (so they can keep on iCloud for later use/download) and to remove items permanantly if the user no longer wishes to use the item.

Why people want to delete things permanantly is irrelevant, so stop fighting and complaining with each other and find a solution. I suggest all those who want to have this problem solved to contact apple (as I and a few others have done in this thread) and supply them with the link to this discussion. There really is no need to launch into discussion about how people use their apple products is "wrong" or that "their relationship is flawwed".

The answer is pretty simple. Apple should not put my purchase history on my device. Instead, they should put an editable list of my purchases and allow me to remove items as I see fit.

This allows Apple to maintain my purchase history on their systems, and allows me to have control over what's on my phone.

Simple.

Like with iTunes on Mac, they need to enable a simple login for ios to view purchase history. Problem solved me thinks.
