Also, I just received a reply back from an Apple support representative about a case that I opened for this very issue. He said that there is nothing they can do to remove a purchase history item (since it is a mirror of what they have stored in their systems). He said the best way to get this changed is to use the feedback link I posted above:

Sorry bcw82 to reply to you - but for all who want to remove the purchase history from view on your iPad...

SIGN OUT OF YOUR ACCOUNT. Then the purchases are no longer visible on the device. That really doesn't seem to be a problem to me ... try it ... it works!

That takes care of the privacy issue. If you give out your Apple ID and password - then that's on you. Sign out and the history will disappear from the device.

Let me know what you think. I was thinking, if you can delete a phone record, then why can't you delete an app in the purchase history. The phone company would have my call history, but I can still delete a call on my phone. Apple will have my app purchase history, so the same should apply, surely?

Just adding a "Hide" button under each app and a "Show Hidden" button at the top of the page should clear this up. I agree with JRDLock. Permanently deleting them and hiding them are essentially the same in regards to what most people on this board are requesting.

Let me add that I'd also prefer a paging system that shows the list 200 apps at a time, just like the Update page does... 10000+ apps take FOR.EV.ER. to load, causing iTunes to screech to a halt.

Privacy is a huge issue. Many of us have family accounts, now all apps previously purchased will be visible. Apple can feel free to keep records in their data base, if it's tied to accounting. My concern is what shows up on my accounts via the iPhone and iPads. I am sure there will eventually be fall out for the option not being included in the apps development.

Eddavis...... You make an excellent point. Your point puts the theory to rest that the app history can not be deleted because it is tied to accounting.

Not even close and I know the dig is directed toward me. The purchase of an app is a legal sales record - the phone call is not the record of a sale. You can't be that dumb to think you are comparing apples to apples - no pun intended.

I don't own an iPhone - never did. But every cell phone I ever owned would let me delete the call history. That is a privacy issue - not a sales record. Why Apple never implemented that on the iPhone from the get go is beyond me.
