The Restrictions set in the Allowed Content should also be applied to the historical purchases.
Thanks for the tip. It works but is a pain. And once you enter your userID/pw again to download updates or for an in app purchase, my iphone caches the credentials again and I have to go back to Settings and repeat the process again. I'm not sure what apple saw as the benefit to it's customers here. When I delete an app from my phone I don't want to see it again in any history. This 'feature' stinks!
I believe you can go into iTunes and right click to permanently delete any app from both your iTunes and iOS device history. Should be able to do it from mobile too though. ***** when you can't.
Incorrect.
:/ It only deletes them from iTunes...but that might fix the shared account problem. Just not the sharing an iOS device problem. This is such an annoying problem. Apple really needs to fix this.
I think everyone here should make a pact to stop purchasing anything else from the Apple Store until Apple offers a permanently-remove option on the apps we chose to delete from the purchased history.
This is the only option we customers have with Apple, unless some gracious law firm wishes to start a class-action lawsuit against Apple for not allowing its customers to delete historical purchases.
😠
Why would I do that? I want Apple to keep accurate records of my purchases.
Here Meg, I'll help you with the big words:
option |ˈäpSHən|noun1 a thing that is or may be chosen: choose the cheapest options for supplying energy.• [ in sing. ] the freedom, power, or right to choose something: she was given the option of resigning or being dismissed | he has no option but to pay up.• a right to buy or sell a particular thing at a specified price within a set time: Columbia Pictures has an option on the script | [ with infinitive ] : an option to buy the land.
I downloaded apps I did not anyone to see. (very curious about social dating apps, hetro and bi.) I wanted to see if any one I knew was "cruising" in my area. I read a few solutions which helped me. Signing out helped , then I noticed you could make a new account instead on signing in again. So I made a new account and signed in.
Under "Purchased" ("All" and "Not on this iPhone") were both empty. That is when I realized that the "Purchased" Apps were on the Web site not actual stored on your iPhone . Hope this helps.

Ask your bank if they will give you an option to delete transactions from your bank account. Or your credit card company.
App store > Purchases > Swipe to the left > Little Red 'Hide' button...
I find it annoying, too! I don't have any embarassing apps (if anyone from my grandmother to a random stranger on the street wants to look at my app history, that's ok!) BUT I don't like having to scroll through all the rubbish I deleted from my phone to find apps I actually liked. I wish I could delete apps I no longer like from the list.
Then Hide them as described above and when you scroll through the list they won't be there.
Excellent. Not completely gone, but good enough I guess. Thanks, was this an iOS 5 fix? I'm pretty certain I tried this with iOs4x
i'm not sure if this works perfectly but i was able to go on Itunes to purchased apps. when i put my mouse over the app i wanted to delete it did give me the option to hide. when i synced my iphone afteward the Purchased apps weren't there. any opinion about this?
