Try going to iTunes on your computer and going on to the iTunes store. Click on purchaed, and select Apps. Mouse over the App and you should see a small "x" on the top left corner to hide the purchase.
The "X" is very, very hard to see ... once you've reached the display of Purchased App's.
Note that the App's logo has a shaved top-left corner. That's where the "X" is. Roll your mouse over what appears to be white space ... over where the exact top-left corner should be ... and click. That enables the hide.
thanks for that post. you're right, you have to click the upper left corner. in my case the x wasn't visible whatsoever. it was able to hide apps after that.
HI All,
My problem is similar to the OP but for a different reason. We have apps that were purchased under our old emails that we no longer have access to because we changed internet providers. We changed the Apple IDs to the new email but the old purchases want the password to the old email (i.e.Apple ID) to which we no longer have the passwords and can not reset because that old email is no longer active.
e.g. I delete say dropbox app (downloaded for free under old email) and want to buy it under the new Apple ID (Same account but New email) but it won't let me because it checks the history and asks me to enter the old password/ID for something I want to buy brand new under a new ID! I can not move from my old iphone to my new one because I don't know the old password. I changed the account email on the old account before we lost access to it but it still asks for the old email not the one it was subsequently changed to. Catch 22! It should ask for the new email to that account. Why else have the option to change the email on your Apple ID account?
This is rather badly thought out by Apple IMHO.
hi
No one is saying they can't keep the 'record' of your purchase, but getting rid of the crappy apps would be very helpful.
