I would like to delete items from my app store purchase history. can this be done?

Your purchase history is tied to your AppleID (the name or email address you use to make purchases through the App Store / iTunes Store). It cannot be changed by you (the user). You could stop using your current AppleID and use a different one, but then you would have to keep track of two different IDs when making purchases etc.
You can contact the iTunes Store email team and ask them about removing items but as it's your official history of purchases I doubt there is a way to remove it from their end either: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/

Hey every1 :) I have an iPhone 4s and I was able to hide my purchase apps. If u go on to where the purchase history is u will see ur apps. There is a list of apps and every app has the title and then there is an iCloud symbol next to it
Eg. Temple run. [icloud symbol].
if u swipe the iCloud symbol this should show a "hide" button :) Press on it and this should hide ur app :) I hope I helped on some way, I do apologize if instructions aren't very clear, easier spoken then written :) :) all the best :)
Yo! Add delete button for at least free apps! I think this will help a lot of users!
I'm with you, AslanDoma. I think it's just ridiculous that we cannot go through our purchase history and weed out ones we don't want and wouldn't ever go back to using. How 'bout it Apple? Please add delete button for free apps. This would help me and all these other people out alot. I've had my iPad 2 since last year for Christmas and the purchase history has gotten kinda messy with me trying apps out and deleting 'em if it's not what I was looking for.

In the meantime you can hide purchases to make them less visible : hiding and unhiding
Not the same as deleting, plus didn't netflix just get sued for keeping history like this. Some kind of privacy issue i thought it was.
Hi, if you delete the app store and then download it again. Is the purchased items still there?? Hmmm,....
