10.3 No 'Download previous purchased' music option

Revolution!! Maybe we (all outside of the US) should refuse to purchase from the iTunes store until we are treated fairly and given the same rights as the good old US of A.... 😁

I'm a canadian (quebec) and I don't have access to the music I've already bought. I think I'll download my music with torrents👿 at some well known sites, much easier.

I wish the Canadian Store will get that functionnality soon 😠.

This is another classic case of a big company forgetting that there are other paying customers in the world as well. I'm in Australia (and of course, can't redownload songs) and I had a similar problem like this with Microsoft. On their Xbox Live website they were advertsing this great looking "Xbox Live Rewards" program where you got free MS Points for referring friends and buying memberships, etc. I put in my password to sign up for it but OHH NO! they had failed to make it known that it was only available in the U.S. I just with that big companies would realise that the U.S. aren't the only paying customers and actually at the the moment (and it has been for quite some time now) the Australian dollar is quite stronger than the U.S. and yet, we are still paying quite a bit more than the U.S.! Wake up Apple and let other people around the world actually use the service that you advertised to us.

Iam from Germany and very disappointed as well. To me, having watched the keynotes yesterday, the functionality of "re-downloading" music as well as being abel to have that music on my other apple product via cloud (beta) was the most important one .

I really hope this situation will be solved ASAP ... everything else would just be very unfair!

Multimillion apple products are shipped to the whole , no reason to limit their advertised features to 1 country!

Dont get me wrong i really love my mac book and iphone but this frustrated me a lot ...

I see they now say: "Available in beta now in the U.S. only"

So there is hope for the fall.

Yeah, same here, I'm in the UK and had that same nasty surprise of not seeing the "music" tab in the purchased section on iTunes. However, this service is still in Beta, and as another post above has said they are probably releasing it gradually to see how well it works. I doubt it will be a US only service (unless it's music licensing that's holding it back, which is even more likely the case for iTunes Match), so when iCloud is released in full this Autumn I'm pretty sure it will be released more globally.

We can only hope 😕

As Russa and ChrisAndHisMac have mentioned, it is in the Beta stages, so it should not be very surprising that they are limiting the pool of Beta Testers (at least as far as the new features go). While there is not a guarantee that the service will become available outside of the U.S., there is a good chance it will be, since it is actually supposed to be part of the new iCloud service they are offering. As the website says, "Available in beta now in the U.S. only," which indicates to me that it will be available outside the U.S. once the iCloud service is officially released. Again, there are no guarantees, but I feel there is a strong chance it will be widely available.

I suppose this is not an Apple-issue. But more publishing rights, recor labels etc issue. Quote from a website:

I live in Sweden and when I bought my iPad I was excited about iBooks, but as it turned out i can't actually buy anything, except free Gutenberg Project books publised more or less 100 years ago and which have no copyright anymore. A similar issue is with Amazon. I got the Kindle-app and while the varietly of books I can buy there is large I am also faced with country restrictions and publishing rights.

Though I fail to understand if I have bought a song and lost it, why can't I get it back... but i can download every single Lite and test app I have ever purchased and rather would not be reminded of :-) . This is probably also why we cant buy an Apple Tv in my country

I reside in Switzerland and I have the same issue.. no Music from the Purchased link, just apps and books (another issue.. the library is so restricted to mainly english titles).

I am getting a bit upset at Apple US mainly vision... that has been pretty clear for a long time but "WE" European might not look into the right direction in term of who is placing the restrictions outside the US market.

The bottom line is that Apple created a technology that works globally, in fact the Books and Apps are right there. If they cannot allow non US residents to do the same is probably related to other countries not allowing Apple to offer this service for music under the same conditions. Maybe reviewing all the contract details will take more time and Apple should have not waited to present the service just because Europe, Switzerland, Canada and who knows how many others did not agreed under the same time line that Apple desired to present the service.

Once again.. the service is globally offered. Are probably the agreement about different bodies that deals with copyright protection for other countries that are not willing to agree or ready to do so.

I never found a site in the internet where european citizen can complains with the organization or entities with which Apple (and any other companies offering services) try to agree with. We should try to communicate with them if we want to really know where the obstacles are placed. Does anyone have a link of a site where european can ask and complains about this copyright issues ?

now you and others know to always read the small grey font. not sure they trapped you though.

If this service is released in other countries depends on the company that manages copyright in that country. Apple will have to negotiate with them before releasing this service.

I'd love to see this feature available in Belgium, but the Belgian copyrights management (SABAM) will never allow this service. A pity really.

I don't understand where the copyright issues are. First you have authorised the machine, then identified who you are. That pretty much says that YOU can download on this MACHINE what you have already PURCHASED. Unless there is something that is much more complicated, I don't see the problem. I can sense this is a music industry issue, because if you can redownload a book, why does copyright not apply here as well.

So my take, it is the music industry. If it makes anyone feel better, my backup as well as the original media folder got corrupted, no I lost the music. Funny enough, iTunes can see that I have purchased it, but i can't repurchase it. How contentious is that 😢
