Cannot sync iPhone 4 and iPad - I am getting an unknown error (-50)
iPhone 4, iOS 4.3.1
UPDATE:
I kept syncing it and getting the error message, and iTunes eventually deleted the whole album I downloaded, and then syncing worked just fine.
Funny thing...it actually loaded on the album that it had just deleted from my iTunes library on my MBP. Go figure.
Oops, sorry, was trying to edit my post
Huh, kind of silly that you can't edit your post. Anyway, I might add that i tried the iCloud thing and have 16 songs that are just sitting. Sounds like the iCloud thing is causing a problem with music syncing...
Look at my previous post. Depending how many cloud songs you downloaded will determin how many sync attempts you eed to get rid of all the songs.if you have 10 songs you need10 sync attempts plus 1 to succesfully sync.
I had the same problem with my iPad and iPod Touch.
I tuned off and on my iPad/iPod
In iTunes, I simply unchek sync music
I synced my iPad, it worked. iTunes even looks for my bought music.
I went back to my music tab and added 1 paylist, It worked
Then I added all the music I wanted.
Hope this helps
That worked. Had to sync as many times as the number of tracks I downloaded. Just watched the particular songs (thankfully only one album) disappear one by one by one. They didn't show in my iPad playlist, either.
Thanks.
Gonna sit tight for the next update.
Heh yeah apparently thats all I needed to do as well. Ok, ill have to keep that in mind for now. Thanks for your help.
Had the same problem. Thought my experience would be helpful. I had to go into iTunes and tell it to sync the album that I downloaded via iCloud to my iPhone so that it would see that it is ok that the song is there.
I dont even have "iCloud" and i got the problem (error 50) :/
iOS: Resolving update and restore alert messages including error 50.
Well, I gave up ... I restored my iPad as new and reloaded things ... and will wait for the fix!! Nothing mentioned above seemed to work for my iPad.
Hope it doesn't take long ...
I deleted all the "Purchased" songs off my iPhone but it still didn't work. Guess I'll have to keep trying! ****, I think I downloaded a bunch of them
This exact process worked for me... Once I told iTunes to sync the music that last night I had downloaded to my phone from the air, it zipped right through...
Same here. Error after error until I checked the boxes in iTunes of albums/songs downloaded over the air.
Same here, after reading the possible solutions, I think I'll wait until Apple releases a 10.3.1 or something alike, It's really annoying having to re-sync your whole music library....
