delete apps from purchase history

I need a way of deleting apps off my purchase history! I have downloaded so many crappy free apps and I don't need them there anymore.

Is there a way?

Is apple going to offer this service?- I hope so!

Please just list the apps that are on my devices!!!

There's no way to get rid of the crappy apps I tried just to find out I hate them. Now they're back. And I don't want them, it's confusing.

The 50 billion appstore downloads that were proudly presented at WWDC'11 are now all in people's historylists.

Divide the downloads over iOS units sold and you can figure out how long the average history list is: annoyingly long!

I agree!!! I called Apple and told them the issue. They said the only thing you can do is create new accounts.

Everything you ever donwlaoded is now presneted to your enitre family and they say there is nothing they can do about that. Kids can see daddies dirty apps - deleted years ago. NICE JOB apple, talk about a disaster for privacy and family. If anyone knows how to delete delteted apps from purchase history or specifc apps please let me know.

Whats worse they don;t even gicve you the option for this. If you have ios 4.33 you have this issue already!

Apple just gave us a good reason not to buy their products for our kids. It's a catch-22 if you ask me.

  • What is the purpose of their "Home Sharing" function? Answer: To Share with your family using a single account.
  • Can/should a child have their own email address so they can get their own apple account? Answer: No
  • So what is my only option to get my kid apps for their ipod touch? Answer: Have them "Home Share" my account
  • What does that mean? - Answer: They can now download anything I have purchased in the past. Music, apps, TV Shows, Movies, etc....

Apple - really? C'mon. Now I don't want to give my kid your products.

I called apple and they pretty much told me I'm SOL!!!

I don't want my spouse to see specific apps that I have had in the past (an have not had them for some time now) or she'll start thinking I'm using dating apps/sites.. This problem apple has create has potential for serious problems.

And FYI, you not having control over it actually does impede on privacy laws in select states and Canada... Anyone willing to start a class-action on this issue. (essentially, it's just like the gps tracking 'bug')

... anyone with a child using a family account can now download everything you have ever downloaded,...

Well, to be fair, the only way that they'd be able to download anything, whether it's new, or resurrecting a past purchase, is if they had the password associated with your Apple ID. It's still required.

If they have that password, then they can download pretty much ANYTHING... not just what's in your history.

Not that I support Apple's decision, and I'm just as angry about this information being just dumped there... but there IS control. You can always go through the painstaking task of signing out of your iTunes account each time.

So, unfortunately, it doesn't go against any laws, Canadian or otherwise.

If it did, you can be sure it would be ALL over the news today.

Well the issue for me is privacy and not having apps I deleted years ago, pushed/promoted on my families devices! We deleted them for a reason. If you deleted it from your phone and you deleted it from iTunes umm YOU DIDN'T WANT IT. But now, Apple is digging through that deleted items trash and showing your family any app you have ever purchased - which obviously has the potential to create HUUUUUUUGE issues for kids, spouces, families. it's like giving your kid or wife all of your web history -- ALL OF IT -- and saying have at it! That's what they've done and it's a huge issue. I can't beleive they launched it like this. And with no ability to opt out! Or permanently delete the trash.

What's worse when I called Apple they kept incisting it was itunes Beta. And that I must downlaoded iCloud or Itunes 10.3 Umm nooope. it's included in every iOS 4.33 software - last time I checked ios 4.33 was an official release and nothing mentioned showing your dirty laundry to your family in the updates.

Conceptually being able to share the purcahses you made and still have makes sense. But to assume that EVEYTHING you ever had you want to share with your family is a HUUUUUUUUGE mistake. PLEASE FIX THIS APPLE. TODAY.

And to think that apple was actually at one point a helpfull service. But when they go behind your back and create a problem that you can't fix is totally unprofessional of them. Seriously Apple, WHY WOULD YOU KEEP A HISTORY OF DELETED APPS!?!! Why don't you show all my music I deleted off iTunes OH and better yet why don't they keep my deleted history from safari while your at. Cause it's so cool to show a list of things under purchased that you DELETED. at least give an option to RE DELETE them. And why would they keep the free ones, i didn't know that free apps were consider a purchase. Cmon! I'm soo annoyed with this, apple is going to be losing my support... If they keep this up

Ok.... like many people on here i hate this feature... Yes i do have things to hide from my other half like chat apps etc that i shouldn't have!!

Ok here's the only way ive found to fix it.

1. get a gmail email address. anon@gmail.com

2. Switch your main itunes account to this email address so now all your itunes account info is linked to that address etc

3. create a new apple ID using anon@googlemail.com...... use all yhour correct info including the payment method. you can use either gmail or googlemail they go to the same mailbox.

4. you can now switch between accounts on your phone. They look legitimate and even have the same password bt one has no history (your blank address) and one has you bad history.

5. Ensure you switch to the correct account before buying anything dodgey and remember to delete your itunes reciepts!

Hope this helps
