delete apps from purchase history

I need a way of deleting apps off my purchase history! I have downloaded so many crappy free apps and I don't need them there anymore.

Is there a way?

Is apple going to offer this service?- I hope so!

Apparently you can't delete them, but you can hide them from being displayed on the purchased list. Go to the list of purchased apps. Find the one you don't want. The swipe your finger from left to right across the cloud download icon. It will turn red and display the word HIDE. The touch the HIDE icon and the app will be gone from the list. To unhide, scroll to the bottom of the main apps page, then sign in. Tap the apple ID name, then tap view account. Scroll down to hidden purchases, then you can unhide any apps that you want.

I'm sensing some hostility towards Apple there haha. I think probably since Steve Jobs is gone Apple might play a little nicer. I do disagree with some of Apples legal battles but some I get. It's irrelevant to me at the consumer level so far. I haven't noticed a spike in prices for Android/Samsung.

That said I can't get over how amazing my MacBook Pro-R is and I love my iPad 4.

Just for everyday use I prefer Android on a day to day, every day basis. I think I'm very fortunate to have a wife that loves Android, so she usually gets the latest and greatest Android/Nexus. I'm very fortunate that I can play with her Nexus 10 while still enjoying the perks of having an iPad and certain apple products.

Maybe a little 🙂

I just find it a bit funny how they advertise their "new" functionality, such as the thumb (or should that be iThumb) being able to reach the top of the screen, and asking whether its just coincidence or great design - I'm sure that's been the case on most of the touch-scren phones I've ever owned, Apple are hardly the pioneers 🙂

To be fair I've only owned the 3gs, and that was only because an ex-colleague kept telling me that I couldn't criticise the iPhone until I'd owned one. Only took a couple of months to get fed up of it, and half way through an 18 month contract (and after 2 replacements) I'd got so sick of it I actually went and took out a contract with another provider just to get a new phone (Galaxy S2), which after 18 months I'm still not fed up of.

The fact that I still can't remove old purchased apps from the history is only one of many annoyances.

Or a commercial of a noise canceling mic lol. Their commercials for the iPhone 5 features are lacking. I showed off Android panorama photos native on the Samsung Vibrant when it released in 2010 and my buddy showed me that his iPhone 4 can do it as well. Sure it was a 3rd party app but still hardly a commercial worth making IMO.

Don't get me wrong, I like iOS, but the iPhone 5 is a joke to me. They had a chance to go leaps and bounds ahead of the competition, but they choose to play it safe. Most of the phones features are from iOS6 more so than the phone itself.

That said, I don't think Apple excels at being pioneers, but they do excel at fit and finish. The quality they exhibit on their products is top notch IMO, they have great optimization for iOS and their hardware aesthetics are great. No laptop compares to the MacBook Pro-R and though I'll eventually go back to Android for Tablets, I don't see that happening for some time. Since Android excels at features, they typically are slow with fluidity, refinement and optimization of software in conjunction with hardware. So I don't anticipate Android Tablets being very good until the next Nexus 10-2. Not that I don't like the 10 now, but it is laggy here and there.

I mean I didn't get buttery smoothness until Jelly Bean, I had to root my phones to get smoothness. Anyway, from JB on I stay only with Nexus devices. My next phone will probably be the Nexus 4 when they announce the Nexus 5. Just like I did with the Galaxy Nexus when they announced the Nexus 4.

Also, one thing I do like about Apple right now is resale. I can sell my iPad 4 when they announce the iPad 4S or iPad 5 for top dollar and pay very little for the next iPad.

In iTunes app:

From the Apps option under the Library header, you can select an app or apps for eradication.

If you click Apps under the Library header in the left panel of iTunes, however, you'll be able to permanently delete apps, removing them entirely from iTunes. Highlight an app's icon or a group of icons by holding down Shift and hit the delete key (or select Edit > Delete from the top menu or right-click on an icon and selecting delete).

A window will pop up, asking you if you are sure you want to delete the selected apps. If you are certain of your intentions, click the Delete Apps button.

Next, to remove all files associated with the apps you selected for deletion, click Move to Trash on the next window.

Now, when you return to the apps pane in iTunes to sync your phone, you'll see that the apps you deleted are no longer listed. And if you deleted an app that is currently installed on your iDevice, it will be removed upon your next sync.
