iCloud Beta not working

I tried testing out the new iCloud today. Purchased an item on the iPhone in iTunes. No automatic appearance on my MacBook Pro. Conversely, did the same by downloading a song on the MacBook, but no automatic appearance on the iPhone. All software is up to date, am I missing some kind of activation on my macbook?

Check your iTunes preferences and make sure you have Music, Apps, Books (if desired) checked. You should be signed in with the same accounts on all devices.

Check your iPhone settings and make sure you have the identical things checked in the "Store" settings.

If you are outside of the US, then you currently will not have access to automatic music sync, as it is only available for the US iTunes Store.

Sorry, no. I am running 10.6.7 and just updated iTune today to 10.3. iPhone is also up to date. Using the same iTunes account on both. I just checked my phone again and the item I purchased on my mac is now appearing, however the two pieces of music I purchased on the iPhone are not appearing on the MacBook Pro in iTunes. I tried purchasing it again on the MacBook and it does recognize that I already purchased it, but it is not showing up in itunes anywhere (not in purchased items, not in the library). Another interesting development is that the pdfs and books in iBooks has appeared from the iPhone to my Macbook perfectly fine.

I am wondering if this is a beta glitch. If it is users should have a place to quickly voice problems other than the slow support routes.

Thanks for your replies!

Yes I have looked at this and the two purchases in question do not show up in previously purchased on either the iPhone or the MacBook. They are in the music library of the iPhone. This seems to be definitely a problem of it syncing to the cloud from the iPhone to the Macbook. I have even tried apps now as well and they sync via the cloud from the Macbook to the iPhone but not from the iPhone to the Mac.

I am also wondering now if it has something to do with the iPhone setup. I have it set to manually manage music and apps and am wondering if I will need to change this the next time I plug in my iPhone?

Well...maybe it just needed to sit a while. I plugged the iPhone in to sync then went away from both he computer and the phone. Came back later and tried downloading a few more items to the iPhone and they all appeared on the mac instantly. The two original songs I downloaded are still on the phone but not the computer, but they were free test items anyway and not crucial to have. I can always download them again.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts!

Jim

I can see my purchases, as well as the link to "purchased" in tunes, but when going there it only shows items WERE downloaded, there isn't an icloud link at the bottom of the page as the instructions state there are. I recently had a lot of music disappear, and went to redownload, but can't. I've got 10.7 and am current on my itunes as well. Any ideas? There isn't any sort of download to get icloud is there? Thanks

Are you looking for these pruchases on a mac or a mobile device? These will look different on each.

I am not 100 percent sure this is true, but I did hear Apple reset iCloud services on the 22nd in preparation for iOS5. This is understandable given that they are getting ready to launch this and new products hopefully very soon.

As far as I can tell currently iCloud beta is working properly when I purchase things, they are syncing to my other devices. However, I have not recently tried re-downloading previously bought materials.
