Probably going to get the 5.0 update. Verizon is on a lower update but it came included withthe features for the most part of ios 4.3.

oh but on the verizon iphone 4 you cant do the music share which is available on ios 4.3 for att users hopefully we do get ios 5
Don't hold your breath. Let's face it... the Verizon iPhone is 2nd rate to the AT&T one. Probably always will be one build behind... Heck, based on what's happened so far and the cold shoulder that Apple gave it at the WWDC, I'm staring to think that Verizon won't even carry it any longer. ("We have plenty of other options"... says Verizon.)
Ok, seriously though, if Verizon doesn't get iOS 5 with the rest of the country in the fall, a good chunk of the some 2.5 million Verizon iPhone users will either move back to AT&T or just give up on Verizon and join up with AT&T. (myself being one of them.) This is getting a bit ridiculous. AND... iOS 4.3 contains MANY features and enhancements that we Verizon users STILL don't have. Look it up if you have any doubts. I'm sick of people saying that iOS 4.2.8 and iOS 4.3.3 are basically the same. DUH... if they were the same they'd have the same build number. Again people should look it up, before spreading propaganda.
And finally... based on everything that I've read, it does appear that Verizon will get iOS 5 at the same time as AT&T. (There apparently is a beta out there for the CDMA iPhone of which developers can get.) BUT, I'll believe it when I see it.
It will get iOS5. The beta that was released yesterday has a iOS 5 beta for CDMA and GSM. Now, why were on 4.2.8 is mind boggling.
Yes Verizon users will get 5.0 as some one else said the beta for iPhone4 CDMA is out. I have already seen it running on a Verizon phone.
I'm glad too this having diffrent versions was driving me crazy since I help friends and other people with their iPhones
I just got my iPhone 4 and wonder why this was the case. I cant wait til 5 comes out.
Are you guys serious? The software versions aren't behind. They have to be different in order to run the different types of antenna from the different devices. 4.2.10 is actually identical to 4.3.5, aside from the 4.2.10 running on a CDMA antenna and 4.3.5 running on GSM.
Unfortunately dpr, you are very wrong. The features included in 4.3 (Nitro Javascript, AirPlay, etc.) is not included in 4.2.10. Verizon users aren't as blind as you're suggesting.
Yes the Verizon iPhone 4 will get the iOS 5 update. I still am clueless to why the CDMA iPhone is on the iOS 4.2.x software. They are the exact same devices except for the fact that one runs on Verizon and the other on AT&T. Other than that, they have indentical hardware.
The Verizon iPhone is not second rate. The AT&T iPhone 4 is the one that is second rate. I had AT&T before and while I was out with other people, I had no service and had to borrow a phont to make a call. It was embarrasing. I HATE AT&T with great intensity.
My life on the Veizon iPhone is wayyyyy better than my life on the past 4 iPhones on AT&T.
I actually have one of each... AT&T for personal use and Verizon for work. Both have issues with service depending on where I travel Nothing's perfect it seems...
I used to have an app on my AT&T iPhone that I used in WiFi locations. It was called; Find a Phone Booth" because with AT&T I didn't have any signal most of the time.
So, does this mean that if I plug my Verizon iPhone into iTunes on October 4th, the iOS 5 upgrade will be there? Or is that a vague TBD at the whim of when Verizon & Apple might agree upon it?
The release date of iOS5 has not been announced. ANYTHING you read aboout this is nothing but rumor. Wait until you hear something that comes directly from Apple and Apple only.
FWIW, Apple is having an iPhone event on Oct. 4th at which time the release dates of iOS5 and the new iPhone will likely announced.
