Please increase the session timeout to 15 minutes. I have signed in maybe 8 times today alone. That's not useful when trying to describe a problem or explaining something in detail.
Also, this site is dead slow.

No, it started on May 22 about a day after many started getting the invalid cookie error. Your thread started May 23 in The Lounge has never received a host response. This post was started on May 25 & received a response from Matt K. about two hours later. His response asking for details seems to mean this was not an added feature, but there has been no response since in any of the several threads on the subject.

Yes, I am fully aware of the terminology and the technologies. I am saying it's a wrong way of going about doing things. Because one server can be overloaded while others are not. Distributed means just that. Lasso does that. From what you have said, Jive doesn't.

I just want to move back to unincorporated southeast King County with more trees & fewer close neighbors.
We lived just outside of Maple Valley, Washington, on a nicely wooded 1+ acre for 12 years. But because of my increasing problems with arthritis we needed a one-story house. We were at the end of a shared driveway off a private street, but we did back up to an arterial road that could be quite busy.
We currently live in Kent, WA, on 0.82 acres, but we're on a busy street. It's not the busy street, it's the dogs next door, particularly the Jack Russell Terrier mix, that run up & down the fence trying to incite our dogs & all of the cars that use our driveway for a turn-around (even though we have it posted as private driveway - no turn around).
Ahh, didn't realize we were (almost) neighbors - I used to live in Mill Creek (north of Seattle) and Gig Harbor; now I'm in the greater Portland area.... you ought to check out the area - less traffic.
We lived in Vancouver, WA, (Hazel Dell & Salmon Creek areas) for 8 years before we moved to Maple Valley. I actually like King County better. Because there are only two bridges to get into Portland from Vancouver, the traffic was more of a problem than here. At least here I have options.
Interesting - except for my friends in the Seattle area, my experience was just the opposite - I like this area better....
You guys don't know traffic. Move to Toronto. And I don't mean the outskirts. Downtown. I live down here to avoid the traffic. I work at home to do the same. Love the model.

Nope. I'm saying it is far from as simple as 'distributed means distributed.'
Anything is simple if you know how it's done and can do it. You want distributed/load balanced. Lasso does it, has been around for ages, and this technology doesn't. This system is quite slow, and has inherent problems. It really is quite that simple. Even if the timeout was indeed set to 30 minutes solid, it would still be that slow. Session management is indeed a problem, both on the way they manage duration, and notification links providing auto-login. I'm trying to say this because I think it should be addressed.
Jive does in fact provide load balancing. Exactly how it does that is well documented, but if you aren't interested in reading the documentation there is no point in discussing it with you.
You have discussed it with me. It isn't designed properly. How can you load balance sessions that are reliant upon the originating server? No worky.

There is no single "originating server." If you want to understand how this works, refer to the Jive documentation.
I was born & raised in the Los Angeles area. Maybe that's why Seattle traffic doesn't bother me so much! 😀
