Can I use Dell speakers?
I recently purchased a MacBook Pro 13.3 for my daughter. How can I use her old Dell A525 speakers with this laptop? The Dell manual, such as it is, is not helpful.
MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

As long as the speakers use a 3.5mm jack, they should work. If they use anything else, you should be able to go to Best Buy or Walmart and find a conveter.
It seems to plug in fine, but the speakers do not work. The MacPro speakers continue to work briefly, then they check out until I unplug the external speakers. Internal speakers are working fine.
Then the speakers are probably shot. Sorry, I don't know much about the situation. I did a google search and the speakers should work fine, the only problem I can think of at this point is the speakers are being plugged into the input jack.
And suddenly it works. I think the plug has a short in it. It worked as soon as I worked it a bit. Thanks for your help.
No Problem!
