how to unsync mail from ipad
can I unsync mail from ipad - and if yes, how ... is there a downside to this if I later want to resync it?

When you delete the account you should be prompted if you want to keep the contacts. Choose yes.

You can remove the email from iPad by removing the email account from the settings app. Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and tap the account. Then tap the big, red delete account bottom.

Ah, good point. I wasn't looking at the prefs when I typed up my original reply. So in iOS 4.3 you can turn off the email but leave the contacts and calendar intact. That should accomplish what you want.

Michael
You can always delete the mail account. The downside is that potentially you could lose contacts, calendar, etc.
sounds good - however, will this remove contacts from FaceTime? What happens when I turn the accounts OFF - any negative impact? thanks for your reply
I apologize - but does it make a difference if it's IPAD 2 - as when I do as you suggest - I get account - on or OFF - no big Red Delete button
thanks - perfect
You're welcome.

Michael
