Cats lick iPhone sync cable

I have several USB cables hanging near my desk from a hub. Both of my cats will consistently lick the white iPhone sync cable, and ignore the others. I know this is not the most pressing issue iPhone users face, but it's so bizarre that I was wondering if anyone else had experienced it with their cats. It's too bad it's not the ethernet cable, because I could understand their licking CAT5. Sorry for the pun, but this is an actual question I'm asking.

Thanks.

Funny. I don't usually look in the accessories forum, but was bored and ran out of other stuff to do. I have 2 (formerly) male cats. An orange tabby who could care less about them, and a black and white tuxedo cat who loves them so much I have to take special measures to keep them out of his reach. Really strange. I think the orange one would like them more if they were made of meat... That's why he likes people you know... because they're made of meat. He's a good boy at heart, though. The tuxedo cat is just evil.

That's a full sized recliner the orange one is sitting in by the way. He weighs in at 25 pounds and can easily put his paws on the kitchen counter and look over the top while standing on the floor.
