HTML5 Problems

HTML5 is EVIL!

I need help blocking HTML5. Whenever I log on to my Mac, Safari automatically opens (it's NOT configured to do so) and I the following message pops up:

The website “http://download.cnet.com” is requesting 1 MB of disk space to store “html5 test db” as a database on your disk.

I click NO and then an application that I do not want automatically downloads.

How do I stop the garbage HTML5 from taking control of my machine?

Flash never caused me problems like this.

iPod classic, Mac OS X (10.6.7), iPad-1 IOS 4.3.3

I guess there are no baseball games today.

Please learn to read and then read my posts. I am not a strong advocate of Flash. I am a strong advocate of choice! Then, after hearing from all the fanboys and fangirls about the wonders of HTML5 and I get screwed by it, yes I'm unhappy.

You've been accessing HTML5 content for some considerable time on both your Mac and iPad probably without even realizing it. Suddenly you have one issue with one (badly written, third-party) website and that immediately equals a "total lack of success"?

Ok...

I've been accessing Flash content without even realizing it for a heck of a lot longer time and have had zero problems on my Mac.
