"find process" eats my CPU!

Hi

The last couple of days I've noticed that the "find process" has been running constantly on my Imac. In Activity monitor it occupies around 50% CPU power (1 thread).

I know it has something to do with the daily, weekly etc. scripts in Linux, but the process has now been running for days.

I tried running the scripts from within Snow Leopard Cache Cleaner, but the process just keep popping up in Activity monitor after restart.

Any suggestions?

thx

Created a new user and the problem didn't show up in the new account.

The process is running as root. I'd be surprised if logging out of your account stopped it, but if so, that's a clue you can use.

I tried to aply the 10.6.7 combo update from the new account, but the Find process was still there when I locked into the "old" account...this is weird

That isn't weird at all. The problem isn't caused by OS corruption. It's caused by third-party software that you installed.

I don't think I can be of any further help to you, because I don't use any of the software in question. I've made some suggestions as to how you can proceed. Good luck.
