I was attempting to shut down my ipad2 and it won't shut down or start up....it is frozen....help?

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

This worked for me. iPad 2 froze up after trying to send a zip PDF that was apparently too large. Could not turn off could not stop task etc. This fixed it. Thanks!
