JBL Creature Speakers?

I have the JBL Creature 2:1 speakers for my main PC as they are powered I thought I would be able to connect my ipod and listen to the music without the PC on.

I saw a demo of an mp3 player used with computer speakers in this way. Is it possble to play my Pod directly through th speakers using the input jack from the speaker which would normally go into the sound card at back of PC?

I plan to purcahse dock through time but thought my other speakers should work. Please advise if I need an extra cable or what way I should have things set to work.

You can plug those speakers directly into the iPod. It'll work.
The iPod probably doesn't have sufficient power output to provide a really good sound from them, but it shouldn't harm anything if you play with it.

Thank you 🙂 at least I know I can do no harm and will try again. I don't think I could hear much but I now realise my battery was a little lower than I thought which makes sense with you reply about power. Really appreciate this.

Not too sure how the demo ones I saw with an mp3 worked so well but they were different speakers than mine.

I intend to purchase a speaker dock eventually.
