imac and cell phone for modem use( no Bluetooth)

I have just purchased an imac for use in my motorhome. I have used a pc before and used my cell phone to connect my email while traveling. This had worked great for the past 2 years. I bought a usb cable that connects to my Samsung A310 cell phone and the phone takes the place of the internal modem on the pc.

Now I want to be able to the same thing with the mac (No Bluetooth). The software that I bought for the pc was Future Dial snapsync., they don’t support a mac system.

I have been told I can get a script that will do the same thing.

My problem I can’t seem to find where to locate the script and the instructions to install.

Verizon was no help. Basically with this set up I can connect to the internet thru my cell phone at no cost when using at the correct time. It runs at half the speed of dial up, but when just using email while traveling it works fine for me.

Can anyone direct me to the proper place?

I wish you luck but I don't think you are going to have success. You will probably need Mac OS X USB drivers to recognize the connection from the iMac to that phone.

Then you will need the appropriate modem script to allow the iMac to actually use the cell phone as a modem.

If your cell phone has Bluetooth you would have a higher chance of success by getting a Bluetooth USB dongle and connecting iMac to phone via Bluetooth.

Solution I figured out.

Connect the cell phone to the USB port and the computer recognized as Samsung CDMA Technologies.

I configured my ISP information under PPP then I moved over to modem and selected Verizon Support (PC 5220).

Then the imac can dial out on my cell phone via USB and connect to my ISP (MSN). Again the speed is half of dial up. But it operates with out any additional software or cost.
