Apple TV with Sony Bravia

Hi, There are a few other discussions about this but they are archived so need to ask another question for clarity. I have an older Sony Bravia TV (KLV-S26A10) that has an HDMI port that I plugged the Apple TV into. I get nothing whatsoever. There is nothing on the Sony emote and the external inputs on the menu only list six different video settings, no HDMI. I saw that someone said that Sony helped ot configure the remote for HDMI - does anyone know how to do that? Also, there are two audio ports with the HDMI - do I need those and how do they hook into the Apple TV? Do I have to get some kind of cable that has the HDMI as well as the audio? I have a newer Visio TV that I just plug the HDMI port in (no audio) and it works fine. Unfortunatley, it's in the wrong location for using the Apple TV.

Any advice would be helpful - my 4-year-old granddaughter wants to watch Netflix!

Thanks!

Thanks - yes, my external inputs menu on the remote doesn't have HDMI at all (no favs). The Sony is an older model with only one HDMI port.

The firmware is a good idea and probably what would work if I knew how to do it. I asked Sony for advice but so far they just wrote back that I should hook the Apple TV up to the TV with the HDMI cable and make sure it was secure (duh!). Anyway, thanks for the advice!
