Lion OS X 10.7 and Quicken 2007

I have been having a similar problem. Everytime I go to download bank or credit card transactions the system crashes. Also when I click on a calendar icon to put in a date the system crashes. Does anyone have any fix?

I found a work around for the auto-populate problem.

I discovered that holding the Option key while tabbing from the Payee field in the payment form preserved the rest of the auto-fill data. This is opposite from the convention in the Register, where holding Option blanks all the other auto-fill fields when tabbing from the Payee field.

I found this on MacInTouch reader reports - Quicken and Alternatives thread. I tried it and it does work.

"Restore Defaults" and that set them to reasonable values.... which now work fine, and the checks print with no problem.

I have spent hours trying to find out why quicken won't print. You solved it for me in less than a minute. Many thanks.

I don't know if this will help anybody, but this is how I solved my problem. I was trying to get Quicken 2007-Lion running on a MacBook Air and an iMac. On the MacBook Air, I didn't have the 3vix plug in suspected of causing problems, nor did removing the quotes file from the data file package work.

Then I looked in the same folder that the 3vix would be (if I had it) MacintoshHD>Library>QuickTime and found these two files:

Google Camera Adapter 0.component

Google Camera Adapter 1.component

I don't know what these are for, but I deleted them, and it worked!

I thought I was set and started on my iMac. These same two files were not present on the iMac, nor was the 3vix file. However, Quicken wouldn't launch on the iMac. My solution was to move an already converted data file from the MacBook Air, where Quicken was running fine, and move it to the iMac, and it worked fine. It appears, at least in my case, that the crashes were occurring when Quicken was trying to convert my data file. I also tried to set up a new file, and it crashed then too.

So if you are having crash problems, you might want to look for those two files, or alternatively, find someone who is successfully running Quicken 2007-Lion and convert your data file on their computer, then move it to your own.

Thanks, Troy, for providing the solution for me to print checks from Quicken. I upgraded to Quicken 07 Lion although I am still using SnowLeopard. I had many problems initially but tech support solved the problem of a corrupted file. But today when I wrote 8 checks and couldn't print,......grrrrr! The checks got sent into the printer but came out blank. After half an hour of chatting with a tech support person -- he had me print from a new test account. And trash some preferences. But still, I could not print these checks. And if I tried to print all at once, the program hung and I needed to force quit.

I read your post and changed the preferences in the check printing. I restored the defaults, changed the font. And they all printed!!! Thanks a million!

The QBP server probably wasn't down. This problem (OL-290 errors stating "can't connect to server" when trying to send payments) is persisting and getting worse, particularly with regard to QBP. I sent QBP this message today:

"I've repeatedly contacted Intuit Mac Support about this issue, which persists, and have sent connlogs, and the only reply I've had is that they're aware of the issue but have no timeline for a fix They've even removed the page on this from the support Web site. The problem is getting worse -- a restart or shutdown used to help, but not now. Payments that have been in my outbox for three days still can't be sent to QBP.

"If this isn't fixed soon I will have no choice but to stop using QBP, to which I have been paying $10/month for years and which has become virtually useless thanks to Intuit's programming failure. Somebody at QBP needs to start applying some pressure to Intuit to fix this problem or you are going to start losing customers in droves."

I have an issue with Q7 Lion. I originally began using QEM when Q7 became unusable after the Lion jump. QEM has awful reporting capabilities (no reconciliation report for example), so now I am going back to Q7 Lion.

My issue is as follows: Of my 6 accounts, 5 exported from QEM fine and then uploaded into Q7 Lion without an issue. One account, for some odd reason, no matter I seem to do, QEM will not export the check numbers from the account. In other words, when I upload the QEM export into Q7 none of the checks have their humbers in the register (there is just a blank space).

Any suggestions as to why this is and what I might try so I don't have to go into the accoutn and manually type in a couple of thousand check numbers? Many thanks.

I am not familiar with what QEM is but this is a 2 year old string which has gotten very long over the years. You might consider resking this in a new thread. Sorry I have no answer for you tho.

Google "QEM files for Mac" and you may find some help. Now that I realize you'e talking about Essentials, I'll wish you luck. I dislike that program.

Another thought: In Quicken there's a way to "rebuild" the account files. I wonder if there might be some corruption in your QEM data that could be fixed by a similar procedure.
